About CENSCOPE

The Centre for Social Cohesion, Peace and Empowerment (CENSCOPE) is a Nigerian non-profit organisation based in Maiduguri, Borno State. The organisation works in peacebuilding, social cohesion, protection, gender equality, education, livelihoods, WASH, health and other humanitarian and development areas.

CENSCOPE is implementing a three-year project supported by the Malala Fund to promote Gender-Responsive Education Budgeting in Borno State.

Responsibilities

The Project Officer will:

  • Coordinate project activities across assigned LGAs.
  • Implement activities according to the approved workplan.
  • Facilitate training for government officials and budget monitors.
  • Support stakeholder meetings and engagements.
  • Assist with baseline and monitoring data collection.
  • Coordinate field logistics and security preparations.
  • Track activity-level compliance and documentation.
  • Report safeguarding incidents through the appropriate channels.
  • Support effective delivery of project activities in target communities.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Education, Social Sciences or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of project implementation experience in humanitarian or development settings.
  • Experience working in Northeast Nigeria.
  • Field experience in hard-to-reach or high-security locations.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to project locations.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Knowledge of Hausa and/or Kanuri will be strongly preferred.

Experience with KoboToolbox, ODK, advocacy, budget monitoring or education programmes will be an advantage.
