UNICEF is recruiting an Airtel Africa Project Coordinator for a six-month consultancy in Dakar, Senegal. The consultant will coordinate a multi-country digital learning and school connectivity partnership between UNICEF and Airtel Africa across six West and Central African countries.

About the Role

UNICEF and Airtel Africa have a major partnership focused on expanding digital learning and school connectivity in Africa. The initiative currently benefits six countries, with more than 1,000 schools connected and about one million students and teachers accessing digital learning platforms.

The consultant will coordinate implementation across the participating countries and support monitoring, reporting, communications, and advocacy.

Key Responsibilities

The Project Coordinator will:

• Coordinate activities between UNICEF regional and country offices and Airtel Africa teams.
• Track implementation progress across six partner countries.
• Organize joint planning sessions, workshops, and technical meetings.
• Coordinate with UNICEF’s Giga and Learning Passport teams.
• Support development of a white paper on expanding connectivity to out-of-school children.
• Maintain monthly KPI reporting and the Airtel dashboard.
• Consolidate quarterly and annual progress reports.
• Support data collection on schools connected, learners reached, and advocacy milestones.
• Ensure timely progress and donor reporting.
• Coordinate joint visibility activities with UNICEF and Airtel communications teams.
• Support high-level events, launches, and digital learning campaigns.
• Prepare communication briefs, case studies, and success stories.

Requirements

Applicants should have:

• A Master’s degree in education, blended learning, pedagogy and instructional design, education technology, multimedia design, project management, technology, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience designing, managing, coordinating, or technically advising digital education activities.
• Experience working on multi-country projects, preferably in international development.
• Strong project management skills.
• Ability to manage deliverables, timelines, and review processes across multiple stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to turn complex technical and operational information into clear reports, briefs, presentations, and guidance.
