About the Role

The position supports UNICEF’s partnership with Tunisia’s Ministry of Social Affairs. It focuses on improving coordination between social protection and child protection services.

The successful candidate will help strengthen social workers’ capacity, monitor programme activities and improve referral mechanisms for vulnerable children and families.

The role is based in Tunis but includes field missions outside the city. UNICEF will cover approved field missions.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Integrated Social Services Associate will:

  • Support implementation and monitoring of joint UNICEF-Ministry of Social Affairs activities.
  • Coordinate activities between government departments, UNICEF and partners.
  • Support programme planning, meetings, missions and work plans.
  • Strengthen coordination between social protection and child protection services.
  • Help organise capacity-building activities for social workers.
  • Support preparation of training materials and monitor training results.
  • Promote good practices in social protection, child protection and integrated social work.
  • Support referral mechanisms between relevant social services.
  • Monitor activities and contribute to data collection and analysis.
  • Prepare reports, knowledge products and communication materials.
  • Document results, lessons learned and good practices.
  • Support workshops, meetings and other programme activities.

Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 6 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience working with public institutions, particularly in the social sector, is strongly desirable.
  • Experience coordinating activities, monitoring programmes or organising capacity-building activities is an advantage.
  • Experience with government institutions or the United Nations system is desirable.

A university degree in political science, international relations, social work, sociology, psychology, law or a related field may replace part of the required experience.

A master’s degree in a relevant field may replace up to five years of required experience.

Language Requirements

  • Arabic: Native
  • French: Fluent
  • English: Intermediate is desirable
