Available Position

Finance and Administrative Assistant

The successful candidate will report to the Deputy Coordinator and provide senior-level administrative and financial support to the Health Assistance Office.

The position involves managing information flow, coordinating interagency activities, supporting meetings and conferences, and monitoring assignments and projects.

Key Responsibilities

The Finance and Administrative Assistant will:

  • Manage health assistance information flow within the office.
  • Support interagency communications.
  • Coordinate logistics for meetings and conferences.
  • Manage the Health Assistance Office calendar.
  • Organize and track interagency assignments and projects.
  • Serve as the lead budget and financial adviser to the Senior Foreign Assistance Coordinator.
  • Assist with annual funding requests.
  • Support preparation of sections of the Operational Plan and Health Assistance Office budget.
  • Maintain and provide technical support for budget and programme databases.
  • Use systems including FACTS Info, Expenditure Analysis and GHSD Exchange.
  • Support budget development, planning and execution.
  • Collect and analyse financial and programme data.
  • Prepare accurate reports and financial information for decision-making.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
  • A valid NYSC Certificate or Exemption Certificate.
  • At least four years of progressively responsible experience in budget development, accounting, finance, budget analysis, planning and execution.
  • At least two years of experience in health assistance programmes.
  • Fluent English speaking, reading and writing skills.

Candidates should also understand professional accounting principles, practices and terminology, as well as U.S. Government budgeting and reporting requirements.
